The entire membership of the Johnston Dandy, IAMAW Local Lodge 1660, voted in favour of the offer presented to them at the ratification meeting held on Friday, December 10.

Luc Frigon, District 11 Business Representative, in charge of the Johnston Dandy Unit, wanted to underline the union involvement of Brother Robert Gendron. I would like to congratulate Mr. Robert Gendron, a proud representative of the Machinists who has been employed by Johnston Dandy for 41 years, including more than 20 years as Unit Manager”, declared Luc Frigon. His experience and knowledge were an asset throughout this negotiation. Thank you and congratulations to Mr. Gendron and his team.

Some highlights of the new contract

  • Length of the contract: 3 years
  • Salary increase of 3% per year.
  • Increases to the pension plan for each of the three years,
  • Increased lump sums for safety shoes and work clothes.

Our members of the Johnston Dandy unit are specialized in the repair of dandy rolls and cylinders used in the pulp and paper industry.
