Vancouver, B.C. – IAM Local Lodge 16 is a local made up of a variety of airport workers working for different employers. Although it can sometimes be a challenge, General Chairperson Todd Haverstock manages to make sure they involved in their contract negotiations and in touch with what they are bargaining.

British Airways – Customer Service Agents in Richmond, BC ratified the agreement in December 2021. The 25 members voted in favour of the 2.5 years contract and gained a 5% wage increase for all employees at top scale. There were some other improvements, but for the members, it was about the wage increase, which turns into a $1.00 per hour raise. Those workers’ wages were frozen for the past 2 contracts. Yan Li and Mariana Bojkova represented the local, which began negotiating in July 2021. After it was all said and done, 79% in favour.  Workers at top scale had been frozen for the past 4-6 years and they were very satisfied with the increase the committee was able to achieve.
