On July 23, 2019, IAM District 78 President Mike Edwards thanked Ontario NDP MPP Wayne Gates (Niagara Falls) for his work in protecting Niagara region jobs.
The two met at the Prince of Wales Stakes at the Fort Erie Race Track.
Gates has been steadfast in his advocacy for continued government support of the track to protect not only the union jobs there, but the more than 1,000 jobs the track provides to the Niagara community.
