IAM District Lodge 78, joined by our labour allies from across Ontario, rallied in Niagara Falls on February 22, 2020 at the Progressive Conservative convention to protest the Ford government’s cuts to essential public services.
Turnout was strong, with more than a thousand workers and families from across Ontario in attendance.
“This government is failing Ontarians,” said Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) President Patty Coates at the rally. “Public services like education, health care, and programs that help the most vulnerable Ontarian’s live with dignity have been put on the chopping block so the government’s rich buddies and corporations can have tax relief and raises. Ontarians are overwhelmingly against these cuts.”
