Montreal, QC – On 28 September, 2019, Transport Laberge workers overwhelmingly to accept their first contract, voting 98% in support of the deal.
In the first year of the contract, workers will receive wage increases ranging from 1.6% to 7.29%, followed by annual increases ranging from the cost of living and the cost of living to an additional 0.5% for the last year. The workers had not had an increase for more than 5 years.
Other improvements include: an increase to overtime pay, a 10% increase in the standby rate, an increase in the meal premiums, an increase to the number of sick days, an increase on mileage retroactive to August 1, 2018, introduction of the 4-day week, bonus after a pre-set mileage, increase in mileage after the 3rd year, increases toward the purchase of equipment, and a signing bonus.

In October 2018, more than 120 Transport Laberge workers in Montreal and Quebec joined the IAM and became part of IAM Local 869. The members consist of mechanics, drivers, stores personnel and cleaners.
