Edmonton, AB – Members of IAM Local Lodge 99 working at Leavitt Machinery have ratified a new collective agreement with Leavitt Machinery with some important improvements.
The new three-year agreement provides wage increases of eight per cent in the first year and two per cent in the remaining two years. in the third year.
Said Quintanila, “It was a tough round of bargaining, with Leavitt but with the support of the committee and the great input from the surveys provided by our members, we were able to negotiate many improvements and upgrades to the CBA for the members.”
Some of the highlights of the new agreement are:
- $400.00 eyewear and coverage for all members and ALL dependents this is “new” to the collective bargaining agreement
- A pension increase to 6%
- Tool Allowance increase to $700.00 per year
- Boot Allowance increase went up to $300.00 per year
“I particularly want to thank the other members of the Bargaining Committee, without who this agreement went smoothly, said Quintanilla. Committee members for the negotiations were Victor Quintanilla BR, Mark Meldrum, interim BR, Shawn Cooke, Jason Sweet, Cory Close and Clint Smith.
The 80 members consist of Heavy Equipment technicians, Automotive technicians and Parts personnel. Leavitt Machinery is an industry leader in materials handling equipment solutions specializing in forklifts and aerial equipment such as boom lifts and scissor lifts. The company has 18 branch locations in Alberta, British Columbia, Oregon State and Washington State.
