IAM Local Lodge 235 members employed by Metrolinx recently ratified a new three-year agreement.
The negotiating committee held several virtual ratification meetings over a couple of days to review the changes contained in the tentative agreement.
The agreement now includes wage increases in each year of the agreement, as well as language improvements, including an increase in union orientation time with any new IAM members.
Vacation carryover/payout and overtime language was also improved.
Special thanks goes to the negotiating committee for all their hard work, especially during these challenging times we are all in.
“This round of negotiations was very challenging, dealing with legislation that limited bargaining outcomes, negotiating using electronic platforms, and even holding separate virtual ratification meetings,” said Kim Valliere, District 78 Directing Business Representative. “The committee was instrumental in these negotiations from start to finish.”
Metrolinx is a transportation agency of the Ontario government.
