April 3-6, 2023

Caesars Palace Hotel, Las Vegas, NV

TO: ALL IAM&AW AIR TRANSPORT TERRITORY AND RAIL DIVISION:
TCU EXECUTIVE BOARD, DISTRICT LODGE PRESIDENTS, DISTRICT LODGE SECRETARY TREASURERS, DISTRICT LODGE GENERAL CHAIRPERSONS, DISTRICT LODGE SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVES, LOCAL LODGE PRESIDENTS, LOCAL LODGE RECORDING SECRETARIES

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

This will serve as the official call letter for the 2023 IAM North American Transportation Conference.

The conference will be held at the Caesars Palace Hotel, located at 3570 South Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV 89109, commencing at 9:00 AM on Monday, April 3, 2023, through Thursday, April 6, 2023. Travel days will be Sunday, April 2, 2023, and Friday, April 7, 2023. Credential pick-up will take place on Sunday, April 2, 2023, beginning at 2:00 PM for U.S. Air Transport Registrations, 3:00 PM for Rail Division Registrations, and 4:00 PM for Canadian Registrations, running through 6:00 PM, and continuing for all remaining on the following morning, from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM.

The 2023 IAM North American Transportation Conference will again encompass a combined meeting of delegates and staff from the airline and railroad industries. Everyone will participate in the Transportation Conference general sessions. Committees will be established to address topics of mutual concern, and other committees will consider industry-related issues. When the work of the committees has been completed, they will report back to the Conference so that every delegate will be involved in shaping our future goals.

DELEGATES

An electronic delegate submission process has been set up for this Conference. Instructions on how to submit delegate names and email addresses electronically will be sent directly to each District Lodge Secretary-Treasurer and Local Lodge Recording Secretary. Each District and Local Lodge will bear all expenses for their delegates.

Each District Lodge Secretary-Treasurer and each Local Lodge Recording Secretary should submit those members selected to represent their lodge as soon as possible, but no later than Friday, January 6, 2023. This is extremely important because each delegate will then be emailed a link that will allow them to register for the Transportation Conference, make a hotel reservation, RSVP for Conference events and designate if a guest will be accompanying them.

Additionally, each delegate will be invited to download the 2023 IAM North American Transportation Conference mobile app where they can receive real-time updates leading up to and throughout the Conference.

RESERVATIONS

The Caesars Palace Hotel has set aside a block of rooms with a guaranteed rate of $154.00 per day, plus tax, for single or double occupancy. In addition, a resort fee of $45.00 per day will also be charged, which includes unlimited local phone calls, two (2) guest admissions per day to the fitness center, and in-room internet access for two (2) devices per room, per day.

Information on how to make a hotel reservation will be emailed directly to delegates after their District Lodge Secretary-Treasurer or Local Lodge Recording Secretary electronically submits their name and email address. Hotel reservations must be made no later than February 14, 2023, in order to receive the guaranteed rate, after which all reservation requests will be confirmed subject to room availability.

During these times of industry consolidation, Covid-19, and out-sourcing, it is now time to put together and aggressively pursue a plan to address the future needs of our members as it relates to our industry. As we continue the fight to preserve our contract benefits and job security, the 2023 IAM North American Transportation Conference will offer us a forum where we can effectively deal with the wide spectrum of important issues that impact the members we represent.

I strongly urge every IAM&AW Air Transport/Rail Division member to respond to the opportunity to participate with us next April as we focus on addressing the issues at hand and plan for the future.

If there are any questions concerning the above instructions or the delegate selection process, please contact my office at (301) 967-4552.

Fraternally yours,

David Chartrand Richard D. Johnsen
