
Nia Wilson was selected by the Scholarship Committee from a highly competitive field of applicants. She stood out for her exceptional academic achievements, commitment to community service, and inspiring future goals.
Nia plans to pursue a master’s degree in social work before continuing her education toward a Law degree. Her dedication to advocacy, social justice, and helping others reflects the core values this scholarship seeks to recognize and promote.
Nia also comes from a proud labor family, with both of her parents actively involved in the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists. Their commitment to the labor movement has helped foster Nia’s strong sense of leadership, community involvement, and social responsibility.
As the 2026 IAM District 78 Scholarship recipient, Nia will receive a $2,500 scholarship to support her studies during the upcoming fall semester.
