On November 15, 2019, members of IAM Local Lodge 1922 attended the 23rd Annual Peel Region Health and Safety Awards Dinner, hosted by the Peel Regional Labour Council (PRLC) and Workers Health and Safety Centre (WHSC) at Steelworkers Hall in Mississauga, Ontario.
The dinner was well attended and provided an important opportunity to recognize and honour the dedication of labour activists working tirelessly in Peel Region improve health and safety for all workers.
“All of us here are activists. We are agents of change. We change the world and how it works,” said WHSC Managing Director Tom Parkin in his opening remarks. “Health and safety activists change their work worlds everyday…every health and safety we present is a celebration of the activists receiving them, and a celebration of the labour movement that makes their activism possible.”
