IAM Union leaders met with Bombardier in Montreal on May 21, 2026 to officially launch a new round of contract negotiations focused on job security, fair wages, retirement security, workplace protections, and the future of aerospace workers in Canada.

IAM International President Brian Bryant and Canadian GVP David Chartrand emphasized the union’s longstanding commitment to Bombardier and the aerospace industry, highlighting the resilience of members through economic challenges, industry disruptions, and the pandemic.

Both parties have agreed to five additional bargaining sessions before the summer shutdown, with negotiations continuing ahead of the collective agreement expiry on December 4, 2026.

The IAM remains committed to securing a strong future for members, the next generation of aerospace workers, and the continued success of Bombardier.
