The IAM Local Lodge 1295 members working at Thorncliffe Place, a retirement home in Nepean, overwhelmingly ratified a new four year agreement last week.
IAM District Lodge 78 Representative Jim Snider reported that “there were many language improvements that better fit the members needs, such as shift bidding, layoff, and recall rights. In addition to annual wage increases, there were also pension and uniform allowance increases”.
“These members work very hard and have risen to the challenges that have been placed on them this year. They stuck together and this contract reflects that,” he said.
